1. Introduction

Divvum ("Divvum," "we," "us," or "our") provides a social payment and bill-splitting platform with expense tracking, receipt scanning, group management, reimbursement, and payment features. Divvum helps users create, split, collect, track, and reimburse shared expenses — including receipts, rent, trips, events, shared purchases, and manual expenses — and includes social features such as friends lists, groups, leaderboards, and rewards.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access our mobile app, website, payment links, support channels, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). It applies to account holders, group hosts, and guests who interact through a secure link without creating a full account.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Divvum does not charge a subscription or paywall to use the core platform.

We may review transaction activity, receipts, payment history, device information, and supporting documentation to help ensure proper use of the platform and protect users, Divvum, and our payment partners.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following ways:

A. Payment and Financial Partners

E. Legal, Compliance, and Safety

We may share information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our policies, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, protect rights, protect the safety of users or the public, resolve disputes, or cooperate with payment partners, banks, card networks, and regulators.

F. Business Transfers

If Divvum is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy.

G. No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless clearly disclosed and permitted by law.

5. Payment Providers and Third-Party Services

Divvum relies on third-party providers for payments, identity and risk review, bank connectivity, receipt processing, and authentication. These providers process information according to their own privacy policies.

Depending on the flow, you may be asked to provide information directly to providers such as Stripe, Plaid, Apple, Google, banks, or other payment providers. Where Apple or Google are involved, this is generally limited to platform services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or app distribution through their respective app stores.

Divvum does not control the privacy practices of these third-party providers. We encourage you to review their privacy policies to understand how they handle your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business, legal, tax, accounting, security, dispute, fraud prevention, payment partner, bank, card network, and compliance purposes.

Because Divvum involves payments and financial activity, we may retain certain transaction, payout, refund, dispute, chargeback, security, and compliance records for longer periods when required or reasonably necessary.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure cloud infrastructure, and role-based access controls. Payment data is handled by our payment providers using their own security controls.

No system or method of transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should protect your account credentials and contact us at contact@divvum.app if you suspect unauthorized activity on your account.
